This little stone cottage is located in the unspoilt terraced village of Pontecuti. Originally a Roman encampment, its name—pons castrum a cuti—meant corner bridge, as this was the only means of crossing the Tiber outside of Rome. The house is situated about halfway up in the village, reached by a flight of stone steps with no vehicular access but with easy parking 100 metres away. It has a small private garden, which overlooks the river in one direction and towards nearby hills with vineyards and olive trees in the other. The cottage retains its 17th century character, but has been carefully restored and updated with basic 20th century amenities. Nestled among the other village houses, the cottage is small but comfortable and is on two floors. There is a good municipal pool just outside Todi, and several lakes within easy driving distance. The ancient town of Todi is a 5-minute drive.
