With a floor space
of about 300 square metres this typical Italian rural property has been
inhabited for several hundred years.
The ground floor consists of a large animal stall, several cantinas
for wine-making, a garage and an old fashioned stone oven. The 1st floor
has a large kitchen with an open fireplace, three bedrooms, a bathroom
and another large room presently used for grain storage which would
make an ideal sitting room or another bedroom.
Heating and hot water are supplied, at present, by a back-boiler to
the wood-burning fireplace. We'd recommend a modern gas fired system
as well as the renewal of the old fashioned electrical wiring.
The house has a phone, 3 kw of electricity, and water is supplied by
a spring on a nearby hillside.
The property is located in desirable Comune of Cortona. There is a small
shop in village and nearby the Aquaviva restaurant.
The family presently occupies most of the first floor but use the large
grain store to the east for storage. (See
floor plan).
There is the same space again on the ground floor (see
floor plan) but with additional out-buildings and an ancient bread
oven.

Casa Antonio website.
