La Dogana is a large (300 square metres) Florentine style building that
was the customs house (until 1870) on the Tuscan side of the border
with Umbria.
The house is situated close to the road running from Morra in Umbria
to Castiglion Fiorentino in Tuscany where there is the mainline train
station. The house is situated amidst 12,000 square metres of its own
garden and light woodland. It borders a fast running trout stream, ideal
for paddling, stone skimming and shade in the hot summer months. There
is a mixed fruit orchard and a large field with convenient irrigation
from the nearby stream.
